Painting work we take up
- Interior painting. Walls and ceilings with emulsion or distemper.
- Putty and primer. New putty on rough walls, primer before paint.
- Texture and accent walls. Texture finishes or accent colours where wanted.
- Exterior painting. Weather-resistant exterior paint on houses.
- Wood and metal. Enamel or PU on doors, grills and railings.
Dampness and peeling paint
Peeling, bubbling or white powder on walls usually means moisture. Painting over it won't last. The source – a leaking bathroom above, roof, external crack or plumbing line – should be fixed first, then the plaster dried and treated before repainting. We point this out during the site visit.
Before the painters arrive
- Colours. Final shades chosen in daylight, ideally on a test patch.
- Furniture. Moved away from walls and covered.
- Fittings. Switch plates, curtain rods and wall hangings removed.
- Timing. Painting is the last trade – after all carpentry and ceiling work.
What affects painting cost
Wall area, condition of the surface, number of putty and paint coats, paint brand and type, texture work, ceiling height and exterior access.
